Make sure that it is sturdy enough to take weight of the things you are going to store overhead. Wooden ceilings usually have limited capacity. It would only be capable of taking lighter objects. If that is that case, your things would be safer on the ground instead. This will also be safer for you and your family because you will not be in danger of getting hit of falling objects. On the other hand, if you have a sturdy ceiling you should also decide first what items you are going to store overhead. This would help you decide what type of overhead storage is appropriate. You will be able to choose the right materials and the right size as well. In the end, this will enable to get best overhead storage and so you will also be able to use it efficiently as well.
